Print Basket
Collect cards from anywhere, export one combined PDF
The Print Basket is a shopping-cart style queue for ID cards. Instead of exporting one class at a time, add cards from any school, any class, and any record type — students, teachers, non-teaching staff, employees, or members — and export the whole lot as a single print-ready PDF. The basket lives in your browser, so it survives page refreshes until you clear it yourself.
How to Use the Print Basket
Open an ID Cards page
Go to Dashboard → Students (or Teachers / Staff / Members / Employees) → ID Cards.
Select the cards you want
Tick individual records or use Select All after filtering by class or status.
Click "Add to Print Basket"
The cards are queued and grouped by school and record type. Duplicates are ignored automatically.
Switch school and repeat
Add cards from another school or another record type — everything stacks into the same basket.
Open the basket
Click the basket icon in the sidebar (it shows a live count) — the drawer slides down from the top.
Review and trim
Remove a single card or an entire group before exporting. Nothing is deleted from your database.
Export combined PDF
Pick paper size, print quality (DPI), card gap, and fill order — then download one merged PDF.
Combined Export Settings
Condition Designer
One template, a different background for every class or house
Schools often want colour-coded cards — a different design per class, per house, or per bus route. Instead of building ten near-identical templates, the Condition Designer lets one template swap its background based on a field value. Pick the field, upload a background for each value, and every card picks the right design automatically at render time.
Any Text Field
Class, Section, House, Bus Route, Hostel — any non-image field works.
Auto-Discovered Values
Reads your records and lists every unique value so you never miss one.
Front & Back
Double-sided templates get a separate background per side, per value.
Setting Up Conditional Backgrounds
Open the designer
Go to Dashboard → Designer and open the template you want to make conditional.
Click "Condition Designer"
Find it in the design toolbar. Turn the Enable switch on.
Choose the deciding field
Select the field that drives the design — e.g. Class. Existing values are pulled in from your records automatically.
Add or edit values
Discovered values appear as rows. You can add a value manually for classes you have not entered yet.
Upload a background per value
Upload the front background (and back, if double-sided) for each row. Images are compressed on upload.
Preview before saving
Use "Preview Condition" in the designer to see the card as it will look for each value.
Save the template
Every card, preview, and PDF export now resolves the right background per record — no manual switching.
Class Migration
Promote an entire class to the next academic year
At the start of a new session, every student in Class 9 becomes a Class 10 student. Class Migration moves all students from one class to another in a single action — and optionally clears the fields that go stale each year, like roll numbers, photo status, and card status. No re-import, no Excel gymnastics, no re-paying credits for existing students.
Migrating a Class
Open the school
Go to Dashboard → Schools → [School] and open the class management area.
Start Class Migration
Click "Migrate Class" to open the migration dialog.
Pick the source class
Choose the class to migrate from. The dialog immediately shows how many active students will be affected.
Pick the target class
Select an existing class, or switch to Custom and type a brand-new one (e.g. XI-Science) — it is registered on the school automatically.
Choose what to reset
Optionally reset Photo Status and Card Status to Pending, and tick any fields to clear — Roll No is the usual one.
Confirm migration
Click "Confirm Migration". Every matching student is updated at once and the school's class list refreshes.
Count Before You Commit
The dialog previews the exact number of students the migration will touch.
New Classes On the Fly
Type a class that does not exist yet — it is created and saved to the school.
Fresh Photo Cycle
Reset photo status to Pending so this year's photo collection starts clean.
Double-Sided ID Cards
Design the back, print it correctly, cut with confidence
Most school cards need a back side — school rules, emergency contacts, bus route, address, or the principal's signature. Turn on the back side in the designer, lay it out exactly like the front, and choose the print layout that matches your printer when you export.
Designing the Back Side
Enable double-sided
In the designer, switch the card to double-sided. A Back tab appears next to Front.
Design the back
Add a background, text, images, QR codes — the back canvas has the same tools as the front.
Or mirror the front
Tick "Same as front" to keep the back identical and locked — it updates live as you edit the front.
Keep the same orientation
Portrait and landscape are resolved from the card size, so both faces always line up when cut.
Preview both faces
The card preview and the ID Cards page both show front and back before you spend paper.
Three Print Layouts — Pick Yours
Fold & Cut
Single-side printers
Front and back on the same page, back flipped upside-down. Print, fold along the middle, cut — a real two-sided card.
Side View
Proofing & custom cutting
Front and back side by side, nothing flipped. Best for checking a design or cutting your own way.
Both Pages
Duplex / auto-flip printers
All fronts on one page, all backs on the next, with columns mirrored so every back lands behind its own front.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I try before I buy?
Yes! Schools get 100 free credits on signup. Vendors can request a demo to see the platform in action.
What file formats are supported for bulk import?
We support Excel files (.xlsx, .xls) and CSV files. Download our template for the correct format.
Can I customize the ID card design?
Absolutely! Our Figma-inspired designer lets you create fully custom templates with your branding, colors, and layout.
Is my data secure?
Yes, we use industry-standard encryption and secure cloud storage. Your data is never shared with third parties.
Do credits expire?
No, credits never expire. Use them whenever you need.
Can I print cards from two different schools in one PDF?
Yes. Add cards from any school to the Print Basket — each group keeps its own template — then export one combined PDF from the basket drawer.
Does the Print Basket empty itself after I download?
No. The basket keeps its contents until you press Clear Basket, so you can re-export with different paper or quality settings.
Can each class have a different card design?
Yes. Use the Condition Designer in the designer: choose a field like Class or House, then upload a background for each value. Cards pick the right design automatically.
How do I move students to the next class for a new session?
Use Class Migration under Dashboard → Schools → [School]. Pick the source and target class, optionally reset roll numbers and photo status, and confirm — all students move at once.
Which layout should I choose for double-sided printing?
Use Fold & Cut on a normal single-side printer, Both Pages if your printer does automatic duplex, and Side View when you only want to proof the design.
