Frequently asked questions
How many backgrounds can I remove for free?+
5 per day without an account, on the standard tier. Creating a free account raises the limit. The allowance resets at midnight UTC, and any photo that fails to process doesn't count against it.
Do the results have a watermark?+
No. Neither the free tier nor the paid one adds a watermark, a border or a resolution cap.
What's the difference between standard and premium?+
Standard runs a fast general-purpose model — a few seconds per photo, and perfectly good for portraits shot against a wall. Premium runs a much heavier matting model that takes 20–40 seconds per photo but keeps individual strands of hair and thin frames intact. Premium needs an account.
Is the photo stored on your server?+
No. Background removal is the one tool here that has to run server-side, on a GPU. The image is processed in memory and discarded when the response is sent — it isn't written to disk, logged or associated with you.
Do I need an account?+
No. Every tool on this page works signed out. Background removal is the one metered feature — you get 5 free AI cut-outs per day without an account, and a free account raises that limit.
