AI Face Crop — Auto-Crop Photos to ID & Passport Size
Detects the face in every photo and crops it to a perfectly framed ID or passport portrait — hundreds at a time.
- No sign-up
- No watermark
- Photos stay on your device
- Batch of up to 200
Drop your photographs here
JPG, PNG or WebP. Every face is detected and cropped to the ratio you picked, the moment the photos finish loading. Up to 200 at a time.
How it works
- 1
Add the photos
Drag in a whole folder of portraits. They can be any size, any orientation and framed however the camera happened to catch them.
- 2
AI finds every face
A face-detection model runs on each photo in your browser and centres the crop on the face it finds, at the aspect ratio you picked.
- 3
Fix anything it missed
Photos with no detectable face are centre-cropped and flagged, so you can nudge just those with the manual crop tool.
Why use this AI Face Crop
Runs on your device
Face detection happens in the browser with TensorFlow.js. Your photographs are never uploaded to be cropped.
Consistent framing across a batch
Every face lands in the same position at the same scale, which is what makes a sheet of ID cards look printed rather than assembled.
Adjustable head room
One zoom slider controls how tight the crop sits around the face, from a close portrait to a looser passport-style frame.
Manual override on any photo
Group shots, side profiles and heavy sunglasses defeat any detector. Those photos get a normal drag-and-zoom crop box.
Frequently asked questions
What aspect ratios can it crop to?+
3:4 (standard ID card), 35×45mm (passport and visa), 1:1 (square avatar), 4:5, 2:3, or the photo's original proportions. Pick the ratio before running the crop and the whole batch uses it.
What happens if a photo has more than one face?+
The crop centres on the dominant face — the largest and most confidently detected one. If it picks the wrong person, crop that photo by hand.
What if no face is detected?+
The photo is centre-cropped instead and marked with a "No face" badge, so nothing is silently mangled and you know exactly which ones need a look.
Are my photos uploaded to a server?+
Cropping, rotating, enhancing, resizing and exporting all run inside your browser — those photos never leave your device. The only exception is AI background removal, which has to run on a GPU server. Those images are processed and discarded immediately; nothing is stored, and nothing is attached to an account.
Is it really free?+
Yes. There is no watermark, no sign-up wall and no trial timer. The browser-side tools are unlimited; only AI background removal is capped, because each cut-out costs real GPU time.

Doing this for ID cards?
These tools exist because we built them for ID Card Master, which does the same processing across a whole school at once — import a spreadsheet, match photographs to records automatically, crop and cut out every one of them, and print the cards. If you are cropping photos one folder at a time for a batch of ID cards, that is the tool you actually want.
